The book is great. Very informative and a great value.
I was on the prowl for a really good book on homeopathic care for cats, as I have long been a believer that holistic, natural care is the way to go - for pets as well as their human caretakers.
So I scoured Amazon, and found this. Read the reviews. Was impressed by the lavish praise. But being skeptical and occasionally contrary, I figured I'd buy it, then report back with a review on how it was (probably) good, (probably) useful, but (probably) not perfect, for the following reasons...etc., etc. Add a little leaven to the lump, as it were.
Thank goodness words are organic, because I had to eat them. This book is beautiful in its layout, varied in its knowledge, deep in its wisdom, useful in its advice, and worth your time and money. If you're even *thinking* about switching your cat to holistic care, you must have this book on your shelf. If you're worried about how much "extra" work going the homeopathic route might be vs. sticking to an easy-to-maintain routine, stop. This book will help.
Shoot, it's worth it just for the pretty pictures. Fortunately, however, you get a great deal more.
Whole Health For Happy Cats will make both your and your kitty a whole lot of happy. So say I.
Great book
Good info about natural ways to treat your cat and keep him/her healthy for a long life. My 11-yr-old kitty was hyperthyroidic, and now eats an all-raw meat diet - and she is in stunning health! No surgeries, no pills, no radiation treatments - just pure, natural goodness.
A Wonderful Addition to My Cat Health Library
Sandy Arora's book is a wonderful addition to my cat care library. She came to holistic means of healing for her cats via an illness - her cat suffered from kidney failure and cardiomyopathy. Through choosing alternative methods, her pet lived more comfortably and longer than expected. After this experience the author started what is now one of the best online discussion groups for natural cat care, Holisticat. Over eight years she devoted her time to helping other cat caregivers with disease prevention and defining good nutrition. Whole Health for Happy Cats is obviously an incredibly well researched book that is not at all overwhelming to take in, especially for those new to natural rearing. It is filled with color pictures, easy to follow lists and highlighted suggestions. The book is divided into two sections - the first on prevention and the second on wellness. If you are going to buy just one book on natural care for cats in my opinion this would be the best choice of what is in print. It is also an incredible choice for a gift book. i have already bought ten copies to give to friends. Kudos to you, Sandy Arora!
